The concert will feature the unique sound and personalities of the very popular The Three Welsh Tenors - Aled Hall, Alun Rhys-Jenkins and Rhys Meirion.

This year is Côr Meibion Llanelli’s 50th anniversary year.
They are currently looking forward to performing at the Houses of Parliament in London on Tuesday, April 1.

The latest Iechyd Da beer column by Llandeilo brewer Simon Buckley

The Carmarthen Journal Iechyd Da beer column by Llandeilo brewer Simon Buckley, chief executive of Evan-Evans Brewery.

It was Sigmund Freud who once asked ‘What do women really want?’
I am sure that question is not Politically Correct, but being PC would be a first for me!
Over the last three months (while the Journal’s Iechyd Da column has been ‘off air’, so to speak), we have been far from idle in the Evan-Evans Brewery in Llandeilo.
To the contrary we have been working like demons trying desperately to answer Freud’s big question.
And the answer is?
Well, if only it was a simple one-liner. It’s not - and we hope that after three months of market research we have come up with an answer that goes some of the way to answering what is really the question of the moment, how do we get ladies to enjoy beer and to sample new products?
The answer, we believe, is to look at the opportunity of creating a new range of craft beers that develop wonderful new flavours, unique hop and malt combina…

Chemotherapy Day Unit (CDU) receives new training resources

Supporters of the Withybush Hospital Chemotherapy Day Unit (CDU) recently presented a new training aid to the team which will be used to increase skill levels within the CDU and more widely.
The aid will enable the nursing team to provide information to patients and perfect intravenous procedures. It will also be used in the training of district nurses who work with cancer patients in the community and also members of the nursing team based at Withybush Hospital CDU and Ward 10.
The funds for the aid were raised by the Withybush Hospital CDU Appeal through its charity shop located at Riverside, Haverfordwest.
Haematology Nurse Specialist Sister Tracey Thomas said: “We are grateful to those who support the CDU with donations and those who support the charity shop. This equipment is invaluable to us and will help ensure the best possible patient care here in Pembrokeshire.”
Charity chairperson Margaret Bond added “It is always rewarding when, as a charity, we have the opportunity to pu…

Laugharne’s walking trails are being transformed thanks to a £3,072.00 grant from the Rights of Way Improvement Plan Funding Programme, with match-funding from the county council
Access to routes are being improved with the replacement of old stiles for new pedestrian gates to help walkers enjoy the spectacular views overlooking the estuary and the dramatic ruins of the Norman Castle as well as a new Laugharne walks leaflet being produced.
The improvements will develop community and circular walks linking Laugharne, made famous by Welsh poet Dylan Thomas, to the Wales Coastal Path
County executive board member for regeneration and leisure Cllr Meryl Gravell said: “The improvements will see an enhanced experience for residents and visitors to enjoy the history, wildlife and landscape of the area and supports our aim to get more people more active more often.
“It is also wonderful that the proj…
