Chemotherapy Day Unit (CDU) receives new training resources

Supporters of the Withybush Hospital Chemotherapy Day Unit (CDU) recently presented a new training aid to the team which will be used to increase skill levels within the CDU and more widely.
The aid will enable the nursing team to provide information to patients and perfect intravenous procedures. It will also be used in the training of district nurses who work with cancer patients in the community and also members of the nursing team based at Withybush Hospital CDU and Ward 10.
The funds for the aid were raised by the Withybush Hospital CDU Appeal through its charity shop located at Riverside, Haverfordwest.
Haematology Nurse Specialist Sister Tracey Thomas said: “We are grateful to those who support the CDU with donations and those who support the charity shop. This equipment is invaluable to us and will help ensure the best possible patient care here in Pembrokeshire.”
Charity chairperson Margaret Bond added “It is always rewarding when, as a charity, we have the opportunity to purchase the equipment which our CDU needs and to know that it is going to directly benefit patients.”
