Courses to help adults caring for someone with a chronic disease

A free seven week, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) Self Management for Life programme will start in Albany Court, Haverfordwest on Wednesday 10 October and in Aberystwyth Fire Station on Monday 5 November.
Also free, a six week Chronic Disease Self Management Programme for anyone living with a long term health problem starts on Friday 12 October at Ammanford Town Hall and on Thursday 8 November at Aberystwyth Fire Station.
Run by Education Programmes for Patients (EPP) Cymru, these courses aim to give individuals the confidence to take more responsibility and confidence to self manage their health, while encouraging them to work collaboratively with health and social care professionals.
EPP Cymru courses are aimed at a wide range of individuals, reflecting diversity in terms of different health conditions, geographical locations and ethnicity. Participants can also choose to study for learning credits with Agored Cymru at level 1.
The courses will focus on a number of topics including dealing with pain and extreme tiredness, coping with feelings of low mood, relaxation techniques and exercise, healthy eating, communicating with family, friends and professionals and planning for the future.
