Countdown to opening of £3m health centre for Milford Haven

A new modern integrated health centre in Milford Haven is set to open in October.
The new £3million facility will replace the current GP surgery buildings of Barlow House and Robert Street. The two practices will work collaboratively but retain their separate identities. They will move into the Manchester Square Health Centre, in a single purpose-built integrated primary care centre.
The building, will also accommodate various health services including a base for district nurses, midwives and health visitors. An independent pharmacy is also located within the new facility.
It has been designed to allow for future growth in the coming months and years by providing additional clinical space which will allow for the potential future development of primary and community based health services.
It also provides a base for community service staff which are currently working over split sites and it addresses a number of access issues for patients including improved car parking and improvements for disability access.
Hywel Dda Health Board has made a commitment to bring care closer to people’s homes and this new multi million pound facility is just one example of how this is being delivered.
Mark Brandreth, Interim County Director for Pembrokeshire, said: “Having doctor’s surgeries, other health professionals and a pharmacy under one roof will hopefully make life easier for the people of Milford Haven.
“This new facility is an exciting development to improve and develop primary care services in modern fit for purpose accommodation for the people of Milford Haven and surrounding area.”
The scheme has been developed in partnership between the Health Board, GP Practices, Community Health Council, NHS Wales Shared Services Partnership - Facilities Services and Assura Properties Ltd (selected third party developer).
Details of the opening times and contact details will be issued nearer the opening date.
