Swansea ready for Festival time
This year’s Swansea Festival of Music and the Arts gets underway at venues across the city on 4 October.
BBC National Orchestra of Wales will perform Elgar’s Cello Concerto with Julian Lloyd Webber; Chloë Hanslip joins the London Philharmonic Orchestra in Mendelssohn’s Violin Concerto and the Festival welcomes back pianist Freddy Kempf to perform a programme with a Russian flavour with the St Petersburg Symphony Orchestra.
Add in the BBC Singers at the Brangwyn Hall with a concert of Royal music, and a mix of recitals, dance, opera, jazz, drama, talks and the visual arts and you have a feast of Autumn entertainment.
