Midfielder Smothers off to Australia

Carmarthen Town's travelling midfielder Neil Smothers has signed Southern Cross in the Hyundai Queensland State League.
Southern Cross is a newly formed Brisbane based outfit and with the HQSL expanding to 10 teams this season Southern Cross is one of the two new teams accepted into the league.
International clearance permitting, 'Smudger' is hopeful of being included in the squad to face Rockhampton's Capricorn Cougars in Saturday's league opener.
And, despite being a new outfit, Southern Cross have already created an impression on the rest of the league by winning the pre-season Clem Jones Shield at Meakin Park.
