Carmarthenshire team in hockey final

A Carmarthenshire team is in the final of the South Wales Clubs under-15s hockey tournament.
The first team at Twyi Teigrod in Llandeilo were successful in beating off the opposition at the regional event held in Swansea last weekend.
They will now play at the next round against Penarth, Whitchurch Saints and Gwent taking place on April 3.
Tywi Teigrod was one of four teams from Carmarthenshire who entered the tournament - Dinefwr A'r Fro from Ammanford and Clwb Hoci Llanelli entered, along with a second team from Twyi Teigrod.
Carmarthenshire County Council’s Hockey Development Officer Rae Ellis said: "This is a fantastic turnout by our young players from Carmarthenshire having 50 girls from the county playing in this tournament.
“Having one of the teams going through to the finals is an achievement in itself, I would like to wish Alison Jones Head Coach at Twyi Teigrod all the very best.
“It was also nice to see Sophie Lane a Pupil at Amman Valley school who is currently a Welsh Activator with Welsh Hockey Union supporting the tournament and gaining umpiring experience.”
