Scorsese influences Jonathan's film

One of the budding film-makers aiming to make his mark at the Myrddin Shorts film festival in Carmarthen on the May Bank Holiday weekend is Jonathan Evans.
Evans has directed The Taming of Charlie Langford.
From an early age, Evans wanted to be making films.
After being heavily influenced by his film idols Martin Scorsese and Steven Spielberg, Evans started filming short films such as “The other side” and “Afterglow”.
He also writes comedy screenplays and began his interest in writing at the very early age of seven.
It is Martin Scorsese’s dark comedy “The King of Comedy” that influenced his latest film “The Taming of Charlie Langford” – a project that has been eight years in the making.
He assembled a talented and committed cast and crew for the filming who were immediately interested in the project due to the tightly entertaining script he had written.
Recently he gave an interview where he expressed his desire in film making - “Making films is such a rewarding experience for all collaborators involved; the idea of expressing ideals on screen through a number of genres and a roller coaster of emotions is a drug for all artists and I sincerely hope that I can keep on making films for a long time to come.”
