Pembrokeshire man's Haiti help mission

A Pembrokeshire County Council contact centre assistant is taking the plunge for charity - out of an aeroplane.
Roger Jenkins of Haverfordwest is doing his first ever skydive in April, with all proceeds going to the Haiti earthquake appeal.
He says his aim is to raise as much money as possible to help the relief fund.
"We've all been moved by the images from Haiti," he said. "I want to raise a worthwhile sum, several thousand pounds if possible."
The skydive package was generously donated by his colleague Donna Thomas, in response to a request for fundraising ideas from customer contact manager Michael Henderson.
Like everyone, he was appalled by the scale of the disaster in Haiti.
"The Contact Centre regularly raises money for charity by holding raffles or bring and buy events within the centre," he said.
"We have raised over £1000 in the last year alone."
"We were all appalled at what happened in Haiti and felt that we should do something that bit extra to help. Throwing Roger out of a plane to raise money seemed like a good idea!"
Seven members of the contact centre team volunteered to do the sponsored jump, and Roger was delighted that his name was drawn.
He'll be taking part in a tandem jump from 12,000 feet, organised by Skydive Swansea at Swansea Airport on April 10th. The skydive was won by Donna Thomas in a raffle, and all the money collected will go to the emergency appeal as Swansea Dive are not charging for the jump.
Roger, who has already collected £500 in sponsorship from colleagues in the North Wing of County Hall, will be cheered on by his family and colleagues in the contact centre.
"I've always wanted to skydive, but I never thought I'd get the chance," he said. "I'm really looking forward to it."
* If you'd like to sponsor Roger's skydive in aid of the Haiti Earthquake Appeal, you can do so by ringing the County Council Contact Centre on 01437 764551 or by donating over the counter at any of the Customer Service Centres.
