Summer school for Welsh learners

PEOPLE wanting to learn Welsh or brush up on their skills can go to summer school at Cwrs y Fferi.
It will be held in Canolfan Griffith Jones in St Clears from August 26-29 from 9.30am to 3.30pm.
It is the last summer school of the year and an opportunity for people to revise before the regular community courses start week commencing September 22.
There will six groups at different levels. Group 1 is aimed at absolute beginners who haven't been on any course previously.
It is ideal for people who have no Welsh language skills to give them extra support at the beginning and provide a good basic foundation ready for the end of September.
Groups 2 and 3 are for Mynediad/Entry level. Groups 4 and 5 are aimed at Sylfaen/Intermediate level.
Group 6 is for learners who have succeeded in learning Welsh to GCSE level and are hoping to progress on to higher levels in the autumn.
A children’s club will be provided in partnership with Menter Cwm Gwendraeth at a cost of £5 per day. Children must be booked in advance.
The cost of the summer school is £52 which includes lunch and refreshments.
People can book and pay online or call Siân Merlys on 01558 822729 e-mail smerlys@sirgar.gov.uk for more information.
