Carmarthenshire's Loveliest Locality will be named at the Eisteddfod

The aim of ‘Carmarthenshire’s Loveliest Locality’ competition is to encourage communities throughout the County to dress their area up in readiness to celebrate the arrival of the National Eisteddfod in Llanelli.
It has been such a huge achievement for the majority of appeal committees to have reached and exceeded their financial targets. This is our opportunity to celebrate their hard work and enthusiasm.
The aim of this competition is to ensure that Carmarthenshire gives the National Eisteddfod a true Welsh welcome. All those visiting the area can ensure that from whatever direction they enter the county they are sure to see flowers, pretty shop windows, plenty of colour and of course bunting!
The competition was judged on Monday 28 July when the Chairman of Carmarthenshire County Council Cllr Daff Davies will be joined by Sulwyn Thomas the iconic Welsh broadcaster and Jean Oliver a volunteer at the National Botanic Garden of Wales on their travels around the County to find the loveliest locality.
The winning area will be announced and presented with a plaque, sponsored by the National Botanic Garden of Wales at 12noon on Sunday 3 August at the Carmarthenshire County Council Stage located at the centre of the Maes.
