Man fined £75 for dog mess in Ammanford
A man has been fined £75 for not cleaning up after his dog in Maesquarre Road in Ammanford.
Council environmental enforcement officers were on patrol n the area at the time of the incident.
He was issued with a fixed penalty notice which, if not paid, could result in prosecution in court and a fine of up to £1,000.
Executive Board Member for Environmental and Public Protection Cllr Jim Jones said the council would not hesitate to fine irresponsible dog owners.
“The majority of dog owners are responsible and pick up after their pets,” he said. “Not only is dog mess very unpleasant if you step in it, but it can be a serious health risk, particularly for children. Hopefully this latest fine will act as a warning to others.”
