Recycling bins for Carmarthenshire schools

Youngsters in Carmarthenshire can now recycle their litter in the school yard as well as in the classroom.
Litter recycling bins are being installed in some secondary schools as part of the council’s Eco Challenge Award scheme.
It includes Bryngwyn School in Llanelli; Dyffryn Taf in Whitland, Glanymor in Burry Port, Bro Myrddin in Carmarthen; QE High in Carmarthen, Maesyryfa in Cefneithin, Ysgol y Gwendraeth in Drefach and Amman Valley Comprehensive in Ammanford.
Pupils can recycle their plastic bottles, paper and drinks cans using the bins.
The schools also received cash prizes towards their continuing work in energy conservation, reducing waste and environmental best practice.
The deadline for this year’s Eco Challenge Awards has been extended to Monday, April 2.
