Peniel Youth Club members cook up a treat

Young people from Peniel Youth Club have been demonstrating their cooking skills as part of their Open College Network (OCN).
A special event was put on at the youth club for young people to prepare a three-course-meal for their peers and youth workers. Club members were divided into three teams and were given written instructions and a bag of ingredients on the night to complete their cookery challenge.
Members scored their peers on effort, presentation and cookery skills.
Tristy McDermott of Carmarthenshire Council’s Youth Service said: “The event was a great success and young people were able to demonstrate basic cooking skills, organisation and team work. It’s great to see young people enjoying activities like this as they are important skills needed in every day life.”
The young people are now working on completing their next challenge in physical recreation.
Peniel Youth Club is open to all young people aged 11-17 years.
For further information on club times and planned activities, please contact Youth Leader, Tristy McDermott on 01267 246086.
