Residents are being urged to sign up to a police messaging system to help fight crime.
Online Watch Link (OWL) sends messages by telephone, fax, email or mobile phone.
It can be used by police to keep people up-to-date with what is going on in their area and for crime prevention advice.
Crime alerts can also be sent out within half an hour of a crime occurring.
