Five Roads children have fun with Eco Eli
Children in Five Roads have been having fun and learning about the environment with Eco Eli and Tidy Ted.
The council’s eco-friendly elephant is back on the road with the all-singing and all-dancing Gregory Brothers and Tidy Towns mascot Tidy Ted.
Together they are spreading the word on issues such as waste reduction and recycling, litter and dog fouling.
The fun-packed show; a partnership between Carmarthenshire County Council and Tidy Towns and funded through grants from the Welsh Government; is visiting Welsh language primary schools across the county.
Pupils at Five Roads CP School, which has been awarded two Green Flags under the Eco-Schools Programme, joined in the fun and games, clapping, singing and dancing along.
Local member and chair of governors as well as chair of the council’s Environment Scrutiny Committee Cllr Jim Jones went along to see the show. He said: “The children, as well as the adults in the audience, had a fantastic time.
“The show helps to raise awareness of the environment and what we can do to protect it in a light-hearted and entertaining way. It really is an excellent way of delivering these important messages to our young people so that they can learn and enjoy themselves at the same time.”
