A 'Girls' Golfing Gig' was held at 'The Ash'.
Eight girls (pictured above) arrived for the gig, all eager to play on a fine, fairly breezy afternoon. First off the tee, were Ffion Evans (Newport Links) with Laura Evans (Glyn Abbey), who played 12 holes, from the ladies' tees.
Ffion edged in front of Laura, by just two points. Both girls had good drives off the first tee and some great putts were seen on the 6th green, too!
The second group had Kasumi Tran (Tenby), Lauren Hughes (Machynys) and newcomer Lucy Powell (Ashburnham) playing a shorter 6-hole fun competition from the 150-yard markers.
They were observed playing a variety of good shots on the fairways and greens.
In the last group, Lucy Anthony (Tenby), Megan Thomas (Carmarthen) and Beca Morgan (Ashburnham) also played some really good shots on the fairways and especially the 6th green.
Beca and Lucy remarked that they had improved by seven shots each from the previous Friday!
Megan Thomas (Carmarthen) emerged as the winner. Lucy Powell (Ashburnham) came third with 33 shots and the runner-up was Kasumi Tran (Tenby) with 27 shots.
Organiser Andrea Martin said: "There has been a definite improvement in all the girls' golf, from the end of last year's season, so we hope it will continue! A big thank you to all the adults, who helped with the groups and photographer Olivia Martin."
