Tender success a first for Red Kite Law

The newest and biggest law firm in South West Wales, Red Kite Law, has chalked up its first major tender success.
The firm has been successful in tendering to provide legal services to the South West Wales Legal Consortium.
The consortium includes 11 local authorities, three police authorities, Mid and West Wales Fire & Rescue Authority and Swansea University.
“It’s a big feather in our cap and a good start to establishing ourselves as a major force in the legal world in Wales, said Red Kite Law managing partner Luke Smith.
“We are a new firm and a great deal of hard work had to go into our tender bid. But we are delighted that it was a success and credit must go to the hard-working team here at Red Kite Law who made it happen.”
The six original members of the South West Wales Legal Consortium were: Carmarthenshire County Council; Bridgend County Borough Council; Ceredigion County Council; Pembrokeshire County Council; Neath Port Talbot County Borough Council; and Swansea City and County Council.
But the consortium has since been widened to include 12 unitary authorities, a national park authority, two police authorities, a fire service authority and a university.
A total of 17 law firms have been appointed to the various solicitors panels serving the consortium.

Mr Smith (pictured above) added: “We are proud to be a part of that group and look forward to a long and successful working partnership with the South West Wales Legal Consortium.”
The solicitors panels cover: civil litigation and prosecutions; commercial conveyancing; corporate governance and ethical standards; education; employment law; general conveyancing; general legal advice; major IT and commercial contracts; PFI, PPP, Company, Trust and Legal Relationships; planning and environmental law; police authority work; and social services.
Red Kite Law has been established through the merger of two long-established law firms in South West Wales – Lowless & Lowless and Morris Roberts.
Lowless & Lowless was formed in 1898 and, since its centenary year, saw significant expansion which included the acquisition of a number of practices including Paul Settatree & Co, Walter Williams Solicitors and Rogers-Haggar.
Morris Roberts was formed on the 1st of April 1999 following the merger of two established Carmarthen firms, Morris Lloyd and J C Williams and Roberts.
Today, Red Kite Law stands up there as the newest and biggest law firm in South West Wales. The firm has 15 partners and a total headcount of 120, with seven offices spread across Pembrokeshire and Carmarthenshire.
