Cranford comes to Aberglasney!

You’ve seen the TV series and you might even have read the books . . .
Now, there’s the chance to see colourful Cranford brought to life as an open-air theatre performance.
The venue will be the stunning Aberglasney Historic House and Gardens in the Tywi Valley.
The gardens will ‘become’ Cranford when the Chapterhouse Theatre Company stages a performance on Thursday, August 18 (7.30pm).
Based on Elizabeth Gaskell’s classic novellas, this brand-new adaptation of Cranford will bring a smile to young and old alike as the adventures and dramas of life in the countryside are brought to picturesque Aberglasney
The Chapterhouse Theatre Company is a professional touring production group bringing its wide range of experience to venues across Britain.
The company – now entering its 10th season of productions - prides itself on fully accessible, traditional but innovative productions.
A spokesman for Chapterhouse said: “Brush off your bustle and fasten your bonnets as we invite you to the sleepy village of Cranford where a mysterious new arrival is setting hearts aflutter. At the centre of the village are the outrageously proper spinster sisters, Matty and Deborah Jenkyns, who head an unforgettable collection of loveably misguided womenfolk.
“Set deep in the tranquil English countryside, this most traditional tale of splendid snobbery, gossip and social scandal pits lost loves against old friends with sensational results.
“This wonderful new adaptation comes from Laura Turner, whose recent successes include a sell out national tour of Pride and Prejudice, and promises to be one of the most fun and exhilarating evenings of the summer with music, song, romance and dance.
“What better way to spend a summer evening than picnicing with family and friends in the grounds of Aberglasney and joining Chapterhouse for an evening of theatre under the stars?”
In addition to a picnic, you are advised to bring your own seating.
