Hats off to Carmarthenshire dairy producers

Carmarthenshire dairy producers have been congratulated by the county council for their successes at the Nantwich International Cheese Awards.
The Carmarthenshire winners are: The Waitrose Trophy Awarded to the Best Cheese in the Specialist Cheesemakers Section - Carmarthenshire Cheese Company Boksburg Blue – selected from the Winners of 16 Speciality Cheese Classes.
Single Cheese - Any variety that contains Savoury Additives, Soft Cheese produced in UK only: Carmarthenshire Cheese Company – Silver –Pont Gar Garlic and Herb; Single Goats Milk Cheese - other than Hard pressed, open to UK exhibitors: Carmarthenshire Cheese Co - Very highly commended - Carmarthenshire White; Single Goats Milk Blue Cheese, open to UK and non UK exhibitors: Carmarthenshire Cheese Co - Bronze – Carmarthenshire Blue.
Single Naturally Smoked Cheese, Non Hard, open to UK and non UK exhibitors: Carmarthenshire Cheese Co - Silver Pont Gar Smoked; Cheese with additives from Cows Milk, open to UK Exhibitors: Carmarthenshire Cheese Co - Silver – Llangloffan Garlic and Chive.
Blue Cheese - Hard or Soft (Except Stilton) - Open to UK Exhibitors Carmarthenshire Cheese Co - Gold – Boksburg Blue; Cheese - any type or variety. Open to Welsh Cheesemakers- Carmarthenshire Cheese Co - Silver – Boksburg Blue.
Single Carton of Cottage Cheese, plain, open to UK and non UK exhibitors: Sanclêr Organic – Gold; Best Organic Cheese, Speciality, open to any cheese made from organic milk, UK Exhibitors only: Sanclêr Organic – Bronze.
Carmarthenshire County Council executive board member for regeneration and leisure Cllr Clive Scourfield said: “I would like to congratulate Carmarthenshire’s dairy producers for an outstanding number of successes at the Nantwich International Cheese Awards.
“It only goes to prove the quality of produce available from within Carmarthenshire.”
