Greg Pritchard to perform in Llanelli

Greg Pritchard, Super-soprano, is taking to the concert stage in Llanelli next weekend.
The singer, who is also billed as a Counter-Tenor, will be performing A Night of Classics at Glenalla Civic Hall, Llanelli, starting at 7pm.
He will be accompanied by pianist Kirsten Sondergaard.
Greg sprang to fame in May, 2009 in an episode of Britains's Got Talent.
His website tells the story -
Those watching saw him walking onto the stage dressed in leather jacket and jeans; after a brief conversation with the judges he positioned himself to sing. The audience waited for some type of rock or pop song, they did not get one.
The fact that Greg instead sang the beautiful aria 'Nessun Dorma' from Puccini's opera 'Turandot' would have been surprising enough but the real 'shock factor' was that he sang it in a soaring soprano vocal range.
An initially stunned audience rose to their collective feet to give the performance a standing ovation.
Greg was selected as one of only 40 acts for the semi-final episodes of the show where he sang both vocal parts of the duet 'Barcelona' originally sang by Freddie Mercury and Monserrat Cabelle.
He narrowly missed being voted into the finals; a fact that did nothing to deter those who knew that they had witnessed something special and were eager to see and hear more.
The video clip of his Nessun Dorma performance amassed millions and millions of hits as people turned to the internet as a source of information reaching number one in the viral video charts.
Other Greg Pritchards, who had a presence on the World Wide Web, found it necessary to put disclaimers onto their websites to make it clear that they were not THAT Greg Pritchard.
One blogger, who had just happened to mention meeting Greg at the golfing resort where he worked at the time of the show, reported later that his network constantly crashed for weeks, unable to cope with the volume of internet traffic that it was receiving.
Greg has experienced a diverse array of performance opportunites since 2009.
He has appeared in a range of 'variety shows', holiday venues and sung at private functions.
He was also one of the artists to sing at the opening concert of the four week arts festival at Chepstow in the summer of 2010; where he included two classic Baroque opera arias as part of his performance.
He has generously given his time and his talent to many fund raising events for both local and national charities.
This year, Greg is performing two distinct shows which he is touring with, singing contemporary songs in one and performing an evening of classical arias in the other. Also this year Greg is undertaking a series of professional engagements in Asia. Proud to be Welsh, Greg is on his way to achieving his proclaimed ambition to be a worldwide performer.
