Turkey delight for Carmarthenshire
Older people across Carmarthenshire will be tucking in to turkey and trimmings in the county’s luncheon clubs and day centres once again this year.
Carmarthenshire County Council’s social care department has again agreed to provide a free Christmas meal to members of its luncheon clubs and day centres, and will also be providing the seasonal feast through its Meals on Wheels service.
It follows a long tradition of putting on a festive treat for older people in Carmarthenshire.
Members are also treated to a range of entertainment, including performances by musicians and local school choirs during their Christmas meal.
Executive Board Member for Health and Social Care, Cllr Pat Jones, said: “I am delighted that the council will once again provide a free Christmas meal to members of our day centres and luncheon clubs.
“The Christmas dinners are always well attended, and service users have a ball.
“We hope that these events will help to spread a little joy to the older people who use our services.”
