Kidwelly arsonist Matthew Jones jailed after setting rented home alight

Kidwelly arsonist Matthew Jones jailed after setting rented home alight | Llanelli Star
An alcoholic arsonist who threatened the stepdaughter of a firefighter due to give evidence against him has been jailed.
Matthew Jones set his rented house in Kidwelly ablaze but pretended to the authorities that he was out walking his dog at the time the fire started.
It caused significant damage to the Parc Pendre property, which had no buildings insurance.
Some minor damage was also caused to a neighbouring house, whose occupant was unhurt. Jones’s actions on returning to the badly damaged house shortly after the fire had been extinguished made firefighters, including Ricky Woodhead, suspicious.
