Comedy giants visit the Ffwrnes this autumn!
Llanelli's Ffwrnes Theatre will be welcoming two comedy giants this autumn - Marcus Brigstocke and Mark Steel.
Details below -
Podium dancer, oil rig worker, food addict, musical theatre enthusiast, posh, eco-hypocrite, ex-Goth, muppet fan, award winning comedian and chief beverages operator at the Little Chef – screw politics! Let’s talk about me.
Marcus began his comedy career in Bristol whilst studying drama at University and soon won the BBC New Comedian of 1996 at the Edinburgh Festival. He is now regarded as a major comedy, writing and acting talent, performing stand up nationally to sell out audiences both on tour and on the well trodden comedy circuit. The master of satirical comedy, Marcus has proved to be blisteringly funny over a wide range of topics.
“If you haven't seen him live, then you haven't seen him at his very best” *****The Mirror
"Rare is the stand-up show that makes you laugh, think and then fight back the tears. This is it" **** The Daily Telegraph
Friday 19th September 8pm - Ffwrnes
The ‘Mark Steel’s in Town’ show, based on the Radio 4 series in which I write a show centred around each town, has now been to at least 5 million places. It’s a sparkling verdict on humanity that I’ve mocked them all and somehow am still alive.
For this show I’ve found dozens more towns to humiliate, as well as pledging to discover what makes your own town ridiculous. There will be pictures, and ranting, some people will call things out, and you’ll be a far better audience than the miserable arses from down the road.
I’ve stood behind a Londoner on a cliff in Dorset, who said to his wife “That lighthouse is getting on my bloody wick.” I’ve seen rivalries such as that in Corby, when I thanked a librarian for finding me a book and she replied ‘Yes, because here we’re not like those miserable arses from Kettering’. I’ve even read a book called ‘A History of the Railway in Didcot’ that starts “This book is in no way a history of the railway in Didcot.”
