New support service for families in Carmarthenshire
Hywel Dda Health Board | Support for families (Carmarthenshire)
Support is now available to vulnerable families in rural mid and west Wales to enable them to make positive lifestyle changes in the interests of their children and the whole family.
The Integrated Family Support Service (IFSS), officially launched by Gwenda Thomas AM, Deputy Minister for Children and Social Services at Llanelli’s Parc Y Scarlets, is being delivered in partnership by Hywel Dda and Powys Teaching Local Health Boards with Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion, Pembrokeshire and Powys Local Authorities
In Carmarthenshire this will result in an annual quarter of a million pounds invested in working with some of our most vulnerable families. The county’s multi-disciplinary team will be based in Llanelli and will work intensively with families who have multiple problems, in particular those who suffer from drug and alcohol misuse.
