The latest 'View from Richmond Park' Carmarthen Town AFC column from the Carmarthen Journal newspaper -
Carmarthen Town AFC has received thanks for lending a hand to the newly-formed Wales Football-Tennis (Futnet) Association.
Club Shop administrator Celia Kirkby explained: "The request for help arrived at Carmarthen Town’s online shop. Futnet (www.futnet.eu) is played with a football over a tennis net by teams of one to eight players.
“We were asked if we could we help with any surplus old kit. Our storeroom contains a collection of kits from previous seasons and a quantity was parcelled up and sent to the Futnet organisers, who named one of their teams after Carmarthen Town AFC.”
The Wales Futnet Association sent the club a message this week: “Today we have great news, we played our first ever match against England. We won in all three disciplines, singles, doubles and triples. We have a Wales Futnet Facebook page which has full pictures of everyone in the Carmarthen kit. We also have confirmed a tournament date for March 24 in London, where the Carmathen Town Futnet team will be making their competitive debut.
