Viola still knitting for charity at 80!

If you can hear a click-clicking sound in the Trimsaran area, it's likely you are listening to the busy knitting needles of local resident Viola Edwards.
The 80-year-old, who lives at the county council's Llys Y Godian Sheltered Scheme, spends most of her days knitting countless bonnets, matinee coats, booties and shawls - all in aid of two causes very dear to her heart.
The great grandmother hand-makes the woolly warmers for the special care baby units at Singleton and Glangwili hospitals, and also knits to sell and raise money for Llanelli's Ty Bryngwyn Hospice.
"I want to show my appreciation for the staff at the special care baby units, and two of my great grandchildren were born prematurely, and they cared for them wonderfully," said Mrs Edwards.
"I have no idea how many baby clothes I have knitted over the years - probably too many to count - but unfortunately I can't knit as much as I'd like to these days because of my health."
Mrs Edwards has been resident at Llys Y Godian for eight years.
In that time she has enjoyed making new friends and feeling part of a tight-knit community.
Sheltered Scheme Officer Wendy King said: "Mrs Edwards loves to knit, and we all think it is wonderful that she donates her beautiful hand-made clothes to the special baby units. Over the years, many of the fellow residents and our friends have bought some of her knitting for our own families, and it feels great to know that the proceeds are donated by Mrs Edwards to Ty Bryngwyn Hospice."
