Carmarthenshire health care event a success

More than 100 people have attended an event aimed at increasing awareness of local health and social care services.
The Locality Connections event was held in Ammanford, and brought together various professionals to discuss the improvement of joint services.
It was attended by members of staff who work within the 3Ts Community Resource Team
- a joint team linking up services provided by Carmarthenshire County Council and Hywel Dda Health Board - as well as GPs, practice and community nurses, the community mental health team and representatives from secondary care, the local authority and the third sector.
It provided a chance for delegates to discuss the development of joint working and how community services can be strengthened.
It also provided an opportunity to showcase the wide range of services delivered by third sector organisations including foot care, mental health and cancer support services.
Rhiannon Dawson, Assistant Locality Manager for the Aman Gwendraeth Locality, said: "Sharing knowledge of what is available locally not only benefits professionals, but also enables improved choices for individuals.
"This event was a great opportunity for health and social care professionals to meet and develop new ideas for the benefit of people living in our communities."
