Feature film promotes Welsh heritage and talent - and it's being filmed in Llanelli

Global Rockstar Productions, a production company from the United States has assembled a cast and crew of South Wales artists to create a major motion picture which features Welsh history and culture.
Shadow of the Missing, a suspense thriller, is currently filming in and around the community of Llanelli.
Director Jamie Lee Smith of Global Rockstar Productions fell in love with the area after attending the Carmarthen Bay film festival for the last two years.
She then gathered together a group of talented and local filmmakers, comedians, and actors to create a movie that would tell a great story while at the same time bring attention to the scenic beauty and architectural gems which Wales has to offer.
“After researching Welsh history, learning about the culture, and touring this beautiful country,” said Smith “I knew this was the place we needed to film.”
Filming will take place in several locations into August, including local businesses such as the Stradey Park Hotel and a few local churches and historic places.
Kelvin Guy, Director of the Carmarthen Bay Film Festival, is assisting with the production both behind the scenes and on screen with a cameo appearance as himself.
Guy believes this part of Wales has much to offer cinema and television productions looking for places to film.
Smith takes the partnership with local residents very seriously.
To that end she has enlisted the aid of several students on the production, giving them the opportunity to experience life on a film set first hand.
Smith commented “These young filmmakers are so talented and eager to learn, this is the perfect project to launch them. They will be working side by side with seasoned crew members, gaining valuable insight into the inner workings of the industry.”
While Shadow of the Missing is a new production, it offers a classic take on the modern Suspense genre.
“Unlike so many horror films today, this movie avoids the gory and promotes the story,” said Production Manager Doc Benson.
“It weaves a tale of mystery amidst the history, heritage, and people of Wales itself.”
Smith agrees. “We are setting out to prove you can make a film that is suspenseful, funny and educational all at the same time!”
