Stress and anxiety course for Carmarthenshire residents

Carmarthenshire residents won’t be stressing out, thanks to a free ‘understanding stress and anxiety’ course.
Carmarthenshire’s Communities First team is holding the free course on Monday, February 17, at Felinfoel Community Resource Centre to help people overcome and prevent stress.
The course is aimed at helping people to identify stress, anxiety and depression so that they can cope better with stress in their lives
During the course participants will be taught a number of cognitive-behavioural techniques to practice.
Communities First Family Learning Worker Rhian Richards said: “We hope that participants will learn some new approaches to help them in breaking the negative cycles that come with low self-esteem.”
Launched in 2001, Communities First supports the most disadvantaged people in our most deprived areas with the aim of alleviating persistent poverty.
Anti-Poverty Champion, Cllr Pam Palmer, said: “Small changes in people’s thinking and interpretation of a situation can help how they respond and manage a stressful situation. I hope that people will find the course useful. “
