The latest 'View from Richmond Park' Carmarthen Town AFC column from the Carmarthen Journal -
The popular Carmarthen Town AFC Community Programme Schools Tournament will soon resume at Richmond Park, Carmarthen.
The schools matches, usually played at half-time during floodlit Friday night matches at Richmond Park, are a popular feature of the EMS Services-sponsored Community Programme.
Schools Liaison Officer Phil Grice said: “The matches are always a big hit with the crowd at Richmond Park and the children love the buzz of playing under floodlights at a Welsh Premier League ground.”
Subject to any possible fixture changes, the next matches in the tournament are scheduled as follows –
Friday 11 November: Richmond Park v Nantgaredig
Friday 25 November: Model School v Ysgol y Dderwen
If your school wants to take part in the programme, then please contact Phil Grice via Carmarthen Town Council on 01267 235073, or at philgrice@live.co.uk.

The draw for this season's Mond Cup semi-final has produced two mouth-watering ties:- On Wednesday October 5th last year’s runners-up Pencader entertain Ponthenri and the following Wednesday 12th October sees a local derby between Johnstown and Llanstephan. Both these matches should attract a large crowd. Both games to be played at Richmond Park with a 6.45pm kick off.

There is a fund-raising charity evening planned for Friday 14th October at the Carmarthen Town AFC Community Centre in Richmond Park, in aid of the Ty Cymorth Hospice in Carmarthen.
The event will be an informal affair with tickets priced at £12.50 each and groups of people can be seated together for a cold meat knife and fork buffet.
Pupils of Bro Myrddin School, with a range of musical recitals, and Gurnos Rees, an accomplished soprano cornet player will provide the entertainment. Gurnos has won the soloist prize at the National Brass Band Championship at the Albert Hall and numerous other awards.
There will also be ghostly and humorous contributions from the Reverend Towyn Jones and Councillor Peter Hughes Griffiths.
