Wendy joins the Trinity team


Wendy Xerri, has been appointed Director of Knowledge and Information at Trinity University College.
Mrs Xerri, who joins the Senior Management Team, will be responsible for directing strategic and operational leadership in relation to information services and associated technical support functions essential to the effective management of data and the development and dissemination of knowledge and scholarship at Trinity and the University of Wales Lampeter, as both universities prepare to become the University of Wales Trinity Saint David later this year.
She joins Trinity from the International Baccalaureate’s offices in Cardiff where she was the Global Chief Information Officer and IT Director for 5 years having previously been the IT Manager for S4C for 15 years.
A graduate of the University of Glamorgan, Wendy is married with three children, Eirian, Tomos and Joshua.
Wendy says “Joining Trinity has felt like coming home. Being a part of a community and joining a sector that has developed an international profile for Wales is very exciting”.
Vice-Chancellor Dr Medwin Hughes added “We welcome Wendy to the University. She is a key member of staff who will drive forward knowledge and information services to enable the University’s to provide the best support to our students and staff. The University has an ambitious and innovative learning and teaching strategy involving students on an off the campuses. Wendy and her team of staff will be responsible for supporting an academic environment in which students and staff can achieve their ambitions."
Trinity University College and the University of Wales Lampeter are currently working together to create a new university to serve the needs of communities in South West Wales as well as the wider needs of Wales in an international context.
The University will be known as the University of Wales Trinity Saint David and it will capitalise on both institutions’ expertise and knowledge to create a dynamic organisation providing greater opportunities and added value to students.
Above all the university will continue Trinity and Lampeter’s commitment to providing a quality experience of higher education for all of its students to help them reach their full potential.
It is envisaged that the University of Wales Trinity Saint David will welcome its first students in September 2010.
