Llanelli Rotary fashion show raises £1550 for the Wales Air Ambulance service
Llanelli Rotary Club staged a 'Tea and Trends' fashion show at the Stradey Park Hotel to give the Wales Air Ambulance service a big lift.
The event raised £1550 for the air ambulance team.
"It was a fantastic event and we were delighted to be able to raise a lot of cash for the Wales Air Ambulance service, a thoroughly deserving cause," said Llanelli Rotary Club President Susan Roberts.
"The air ambulance in South Wales is currently building a new headquarters in Dafen, Llanelli, and we know that the money will help boost this worthy venture.
"It was a splendid afternoon for the fashion-loving ladies to come together in relaxed and convivial settings.
"Everyone enjoyed a cheeky glass of Prosecco on arrival and a superb afternoon tea served up by the staff of the Stradey Park Hotel.
"The fashion parade, which saw the models tour the tables, was organised by Melanie Shufflebotham of Mossies fashion shop in Llanelli.
"The grateful thanks of Llanelli Rotary Club go to Melanie - and, of course, to Angela Saunders of the Stradey Park Hotel, who helped make it all happen.
"Our thanks go to everyone who helped out on the day. It was a fun occasion with a wonderful result - raising cash for the Wales Air Ambulance service."
Mark Stevens, South Wales fundraising manager for the Wales Air Ambulance service, thanked guests at the fashion show and Llanelli Rotary Club for their hard work.
He added: "Work is continuing at some speed on our new HQ in Dafen, Llanelli. The new HQ will save us something like £40,000 a year in fuel costs and will be a superb, purpose-built centre for he service in South West Wales."
The catwalk team were all provided by Mossies, a business which celebrates its 21st anniversary next year.
The show featured a wide range of special, smart and casual fashion for all occasions.
Many of the models wore Robell pull-on trousers.
Mossies owner Melanie said: "My advice to the ladies of Llanelli is, if you haven't got a pair yet, check them out. Most customers buy one pair and fall in love with the style, fit and price, with many customers buying several styles and colours. They fit everybody."
Mossies is located in the Market precinct in Llanelli and King Street, Carmarthen.
