This Saturday (October 4), the Hywel Girls’ Choir and Hywel Boy Singers will present ‘The Town Remembers’ at St Elli Parish Church.
The Town Remembers will see the massed voices of the Hywel Choir, Llanelli CHoral Society, leading Welsh tenor Aled Hall, drummers, trumpeters and percussionists unite with dignitaries, armed forces and civilian personnel from across the community in the candelit and specially illuminated St. Elli Parish Church to re-tell the story and sacrifice of the great war through song, music, narration and multimedia.
It is all happening under the acclaimed artistic baton of John Hywel Williams.
Highlights of the evening will include moments from Karl Jenkins’ Armed Man, Hymn to the Fallen, Ode to Remembrance, Last Post, Pie Jesu, The Lord’s Prayer, Abide with Me, Onward Christian Soldiers and popular sing-along songs from World War One.
Aled Hall is known throughout the land as one of The Welsh Three Tenors.
He is a frequent performer for Welsh National Opera, Opera Holland Park and has made more than 150 appearances at the Royal Albert Hall, London in concerts and operas promoted by Raymond Gubbay.
Further afield he has sung at Aix en Provence Festival, Wexford Festival, Tokyo, Salzburg and in Baden Baden.
Loud Applause Productions has some big events coming up before the end of the year.
Saturday, October 18, sees the World War 1 Centenary Gala Concert, supporting the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal at Ffwrnes Theatre, Llanelli.
The concert will feature Rebecca Evans, Rhys Meirion, the combined choirs of Burry Port Male Choir, Dyffryn Tywi Male Choir and Mynydd Mawr Male Choir, 215 City of Swansea Squadron Royal Air Force Corps of Drums, Samuel Morris and Angharad Rees. Brian Sullivan will be the compere.
On Saturday, November 1, Ffwrnes will stage A Night with the Stars.
Connie Fisher will host the evening.
Taking centre stage will be members of the Loud Applause Rising Stars stable - Samuel Morris, Daniella Difede, Keely Morgan, Angharad Elise Thomas, Liam Riley, Jordan Williams, Sophie Maliphant, Nia Rees, Johnny Mansel Lewis, Perfect Harmony, The Singhs and Ffion Elin Williams.
They will be joined by Llangennech Primary School Choir (finalists in Songs of Praise School Choir Competition) and other guests.
The Loud Applause Productions Christmas Concert will be at Greenfield Chapel, Llanelli, on November 29, featuring members of the Rising Stars stable and a youth choir.

Saturday 13th December 2014 Christmas Concert Greenfield Chapel 7pm.
From October 22 to 24, SA15 Stage School will be staging the musical 13 at Stiwdio Stepni at Ffwrnes.
This is a new musical from Jason Robert Brown, featuring a cast and band made up entirely of teenagers.
