The power of steam returns to Carmarthen

Steam traction engines will return to the streets of Carmarthen over the August Bank Holiday.
On Saturday August 25, the normal Bank Holiday traffic will be joined by steam traction engines, showman’s engines, traction rollers and scaled models of these, yesteryear workhorses of days gone by.
Leading the procession through Carmarthen town will be a 1906 Aveling and Porter engine accompanied by the trailer which has been its companion throughout its working life. This is the only Aveling and Porter of this type in the world.
A massive exhibition of vintage vehicles will be on display at the Nantyci Showground during August Bank Holiday weekend. For the first time, the well known Orllwyn Teifi Vintage Show will this year be at the Carmarthen venue. Held on Sunday and Monday August 26 and 27, the Orllwyn Teifi 24th Vintage Show offers a weekend full of action and fun for all the family from early morning to late night. Evening entertainment includes local vocalist Llinos Thomas, the king of Welsh singers Dafydd Iwan, and the ever popular group Back Track.
It is a family event with a huge variety of exhibits, displays and activities for children and adults, water walking, fairground rides, tractor pulling, or test your strength.
