Carmarthen Wanderers 6 Bancfosfelen 4

I am grateful to Phil Grice for the following match report -
Spectators at Penllwyn Park on Saturday were treated to an outstanding display of football, which went into extra time, from a rampant Carmarthen Wanderers who dominated this cup clash against Bancffosfelen for 110 of the 120 minutes of the match.
Two delightful corners from club captian Garry Dappo saw firstly Craig Evans outjump the Banc defence to nod in Wanderers first, then Lee Davies blasted in their second from the nodded down cross ball, followed by yet a further great goal agian from the agile Craig Evans.
Wanderers at 3-0 up continued to dominate the match until the final ten minutes. Then Banc woke up and caught the Wanderers napping. Banc scored their first on the eightieth minute, their seond on the 90th, and the equaliser in extra time. On top, they looked set to take this game in the 30 minutes of extra time, and as the Wanderers heads went they down might well have done so. However, a rash tackle in the Wanderers penalty box in the first minute of extra time put the Wanderers back in the game. Captain Gary Dappo elected to take the penalty himself, cooly he stepped up the penalty spot, went left, the goalkeeper also went left, getting a finger to the ball which barely crept into the back of the Banc net. Four three to the Wanderers.
But with the Wanderers now one goal up, their heads came up too. Jamie Davies who had played a dominating game up front popped in the Wanderers fifth, only to be met by Banc's fourth. Then along came Wanderers substitute Matt Dagnell with a wonderful solo goal running in almost from the half way line, to put the seal on this match at six goals to four and to move the Wanderers into the second round of the compeitition.
Player Manager Garry Dappo will be delighted with his team's performance this week following a mixed start to their season. In particular, goalkeeper Ashley Davies had an excellent game and is surely the best keeper in the Division three of the Carmarthenshire League.
The Wanderers once again have managed to gel as a team, and when they are on form are a very difficult team to beat. Keep this up Wanderers and you may well be challenging for promotion this year.
