Gwent trio walk Hadrian's Wall for charity

Three friends from Caldicot in Gwent have completed the marathon 84-mile Hadrian’s Wall walk in aid of the Healing The Wounds charity.
Paul Noble, Kevin Barwick and Andrew Haines completed the famous walk along the England-Scotland border in four days.
They raised a total of £1423.80 for Healing The Wounds, the Welsh charity which helps treat sufferers of PTSD (post traumatic stress disorder).
The cash raised was a mixture of sponsorship and funds collected by the sale of Healing The Wounds wristbands.

Another friend of the trio Doug ‘Duggie’ Lewis worked extremely hard to sell the charity’s wristbands before, during and after the walk.
“Duggie was brilliant, helping to boost the funds for the charity,” said Paul Noble, a manager for G4S. Mr Noble added: “G4S were kind enough to match-fund my own sponsored funds with £358.80, which will be added to the total amount.”
The Hadrian’s Wall walk normally takes between three to nine days to complete and the energetic trio completed their task in four days, carrying their own rucksacks!
Healing The Wounds charity founder and Executive Director Kevin Richards said: “We are extremely grateful to Paul and his friends who have worked so hard to raise these funds for Healing The Wounds.
“We hope they didn’t pick up too many blisters on the way and hope they found their charitable mission rewarding. We are always looking for people who want to help raise funds for us by taking on different tasks.
“Something like walking Hadrian’s Wall is a lifetime’s ambition for many people and it is great that they can combine something which is a hugely rewarding experience with raising money for an important charitable cause.”
Healing The Wounds, which recently announced actor Michael Sheen as a new patron, now has an office and treatment rooms at The Enterprise centre in Bryn Road, Tondu, Bridgend.
