McDonalds staff and students on clean-up mission
Staff from McDonalds joined Coleg Sir Gâr students for a big clean-up in Cross Hands.
Almost three skips were filled with rubbish found on land to the rear of the former Kwik Save store.
The clean-up was organised by Tidy Towns, a Welsh Assembly Government-funded initiative delivered in partnership by Carmarthenshire County Council and Keep Wales Tidy.
The council’s executive board member for regeneration Councillor Clive Scourfield said: “The aim of Tidy Towns is to support communities to improve the quality of their local environment by assisting volunteers to undertake a range of environmental improvement projects with small grants available to cover project costs.
“I am delighted to see that so many organisations have come together to clean up an area of land that has become a real eyesore with rubbish everywhere. By working together we can make a real difference to the area in which we live.”
