Carmarthenshire a conference hotspot

Carmarthenshire is set to become a hotspot for business conferences.
A campaign highlighting unique venues will be launched and will be promoted to companies all over Britain.
Local companies that rely on the business trade are being given the chance to feature in the new campaign.
Carmarthenshire County Council’s tourism and marketing team is confident the launch of Conference and Corporate Activity Venues will boost business tourism in the county.
The comprehensive listings will include everything a company would need to know when choosing where to hold a conference, team building exercise or combination of the two.
It highlights several quality venues that can accommodate a range of conference needs for groups of up to 1,500 people.
It aims to show how Carmarthenshire is a perfect setting for business conferences – from formal gatherings to fun team building exercises.
It lists conference facilities such as the National Botanic Garden of Wales, Llanarthne, where guests can dine in the largest single span glasshouse in the world, or in the unique revolving audio visual Theatre Botanica.
It will also urge people to be one of the first to hold their conference at Ffos Las racecourse, Trimsaran, or the region’s largest capacity venue Parc y Scarlets, in Llanelli.
Conference promotion officer Elinos Walters said: “We have remarkable venues, unspoilt surroundings and a range of fantastic activities that make our county the perfect venue for businesses.
“We have plenty to be shouting about and this campaign is one way in which we are trying to reach new clients.”
A one-stop shop is provided for businesses free of charge. The team can coordinate the whole conference from room size to a leisure away-day.
Elinos said: “By using the venues listed in the guide and the one stop shop, people will be guaranteed a professional service in a special setting in our beautiful county, Carmarthenshire.”
Cllr Clive Scourfield, executive board member for regeneration, added: “This is a perfect opportunity for local businesses to shout about what they have got to offer business people who are visiting Carmarthenshire.
“Business trade is a valuable asset to the county’s tourism economy. Whilst business people are here they are staying in our hotels, eating at our restaurants and relaxing at our fantastic leisure facilities.
“This campaign will show businesses what we have to offer as a county so as to attract more business visitors and tourists.”
