A Swansea mum who has strived to get women and girls interested in computers, science and engineering is celebrating her New Year's MBE.
Beti Williams, of Bishopston, was until recently the director of ITWales, at Swansea University.
One of her achievements was to obtain EU support for two Welsh projects worth £20 million.
Loughor-born Mrs Williams is secretary of the Swansea Bay branch of the Institute of Welsh Affairs, an award-winning founder member of the British Computer Society in Wales, and a former finalist in the Welsh Woman of the Year.
She was appointed MBE in the Queen's New Year Honours list for services to the community.
