The new £2million state-of-the-art leisure complex at the prestigious Lamphey Court Hotel & Spa in Pembrokeshire was given the seal of civic approval when it was officially opened last night (Monday, September 26).
The Deputy Mayor of Pembroke, Councillor Mel (Melanie) Phillips, cut the tape to declare the centre open.
And the Deputy Mayor congratulated the staff and management of the hotel on creating a “wonderful new resource for Pembrokeshire”.
Councillor Phillips: “Everyone has worked tremendously hard here, from the architects and the builders to the staff in the hotel and the spa, and I hope that the new centre is a huge success.
“I am sure it will be a great asset to the hotel and to the whole of Pembrokeshire.”
There has been a remarkable transformation at the hotel and spa centre over the last year.
“We have managed to build this new spa and leisure centre in a relatively short period of time,” said Phil Thomas, general manager at the Lamphey Court Hotel & Spa near Pembroke.
“We’ve got a new team on board here at the Lamphey Court, from myself as the general manager and other key members of staff, including an award-winning chef.
“The architects and the builders have worked very hard to create something very special here and we are sure the centre will be a major asset for the tourism industry in Pembrokeshire.
“It will work particularly well in attracting people down the M4 corridor and that is a win-win situation for the tourism industry which is so important to Pembrokeshire.
“All the staff here at the hotel and spa are hugely excited about the new facility.
“Costing up to £2 million and using exclusive products such as Cinq Mondes and Aromatherapy Associates, Lamphey Court will put Pembrokeshire on the map when it comes to luxury and relaxation.”
The facilities at the new spa include – 14-metre Swimming Pool, Fitness Suite, Resistance Gym, Stretch Area, Treatment Rooms, Sauna, Steam Room, Jacuzzi and a Hair Dressing Salon.
The spa is open to hotel guests and spa and leisure complex members, with space on the membership list running out fast.
The new spa centre will be managed by Kristal Wright, 26, who arrives with an extensive CV which includes working at The Four Seasons Hotel Hampshire, a Five Star Luxury hotel retreat based in Dogmersfield, Hampshire.
