Speakers of Welsh and English might have more than their bilingualism as an advantage over monolingual counterparts.
Because scientists believe being bilingual – a state familiar to generations in Wales brought up on the likes of Sali Mali from their earliest days – exercises the brain and protects against Alzheimer’s disease.
