Go Compare star Wynne in Cardiff

He is now best known for playing the irritating tenor in the Go Compare TV adverts, but Welshman Wynne Evans has been wowing opera audiences for many years.
Carmarthen-born Wynne Evans will be performing at a very special Christmas Concert on Wednesday 8th December at St Mary's Church, Whitchurch, Cardiff at 7pm to raise funds for the British Heart Foundation Cymru and there will also be Christmas readings from Heart Patients and Celebrities
Appearing alongside Wynne will be Soprano Paula Greenwood, Côr Caerdydd, Ben Creighton Griffiths and local choirs.
Wynne is one of the UK’s leading tenors, having sung as a principal with most of the major opera houses and orchestras, including the Welsh National Opera, Royal Opera House in Covent Garden and the English National Opera.
In 2004, he surprised spectators at the Millennium Stadium when waving the Welsh flag he performed Bread of Heaven in response to the New Zealand Haka at the rugby international.
The concert is in aid of British Heart Foundation Cymru.
Wynne is delighted to be supporting such a worthy cause.
Sharon Owen, Fundraising Manager of BHF Cymru in Cardiff said: "We are delighttp://www.blogger.com/img/blank.gifhted that Wynne is able to join us for a very special Concert this Christmas as I know how busy he is! to help raise much needed funds. Heart and circulatory disease remains the number one killer of people in Wales. Nine people will die prematurely every day in Wales from heart and circulatory disease. That is why the work of BHF Cymru is vital. . ."
Tickets are £10 and £8 each and are available from British Heart Foundation Cymru on 20382408 or from Jaspers Coffee Shop, High Street, Llandaff, Cardiff.
