Boost for George Melly Sculpture Appeal
The George Melly Sculpture Appeal is delighted to announce a series of events in Brecon on Friday 29th October culminating in a charity art auction at St Mary's Church in aid of the appeal.

Highlights of October 29th include:
12 pm at St Mary's Church, High Street, Brecon, LD3 7AA
The first unveiling of the artist's model by Diana Melly. Artist Bruce Williams has been selected to create a public art work to celebrate the life of George Melly.
2.30 pm at The George Hotel, George Street, Brecon, LD3 7LD
A "Meet the Artist" session and audio visual presentation by Bruce Williams. For more details about Bruce Williams and his work please visit: http://www.brucewilliams.net
6pm at St Mary's Church, High Street, Brecon, LD3 7AA
Registration and final viewing at St Mary's Church of artworks in the George Melly Sculpture Appeal Art Auction. Please note that general viewing of the artworks will also be available at St Mary's Church from Tuesday 26th October.
7.30pm : Charity Art Auction The art auction will be an exciting mix of paintings, drawings and applied art by some of the best artists working in Wales today as well as young and emerging artists. Many of the works in the auction are available to view online at http://www.georgemellysculpture.org.uk/node/193
Highlights of the auction for George Melly fans will include two original cartoons, donated by Diana Melly, which were drawn for National newspapers the day his death was announced. Bidders unable to attend in person on the day, there will be a phone bidding option available – further details about this will be available online soon.
