Carmarthenshire forum meets minister
Older people in Carmarthenshire have had the chance to tell the Welsh Assembly Government what services they regard as being priorities.
Members of the 50+ Forum Steering Group met WAG Minister for Business and Budget Jane Hutt when she visited the county council’s Carmarthenshire Direct contact centre in Llandeilo.
The Steering Group spent about 45 minutes discussing with the Minister which services they thought it was essential to protect during public sector cuts. Members then toured Carmarthenshire Direct.
50+ Champion Cllr Kevin Madge said: “This was a good opportunity to ensure that the interests of people are taken into account.
“The meeting confirmed the steering group’s status as a credible voice for older people.”
