New tourism website for Carmarthenshire
A stunning new website has been launched to showcase all that Carmarthenshire has to offer.
Inspiring pictures illustrating the county’s breath-taking scenery give tourists a tempting taster of what they could be enjoying on a holiday to one of Wales’s most diverse landscapes.
www.discovercarmarthenshire.com offers everything from an on-line holiday guide to interactive maps and suggestions for places to visit, stay, play and do business.
A full What’s On guide helps visitors plan their stay, and a Food and Drink guide offers advice on eating, shopping and cooking.
Visitors to the county have a dedicated page on which to leave their holiday memories and photos, and businesses can catch a glimpse of the many opportunities that could take their business in a new direction.
Huw Parsons, marketing and tourism manager, said: “With over 58% of people now starting their holiday search via the web, it is essential that the main promotional site for Carmarthenshire is vibrant, informative and innovative.
“However, it is also there to support and complement individual business websites and we look forward to hearing how we can help.
“We have so much more content to add, so look out for the Towi pub trail, the St Clears to Pendine driving tour and our myths and legends treasure hunts!”
All types of people are catered for with the new website, whether they are families looking for exciting things to do, culture vultures looking for interesting stories to explore, extreme sport fanatics looking for new thrills or green-fingered nature lovers looking to discover new wonders.
Cllr Clive Scourfield, executive board member for regeneration and leisure, said: “The internet is a brilliant platform to show exactly what we have to offer here on our own doorsteps. The website is really inspiring and should certainly help to drive more tourists to our part of the world.
“Tourism is a major driving force of Carmarthenshire’s economy, and we truly value the custom that visitors bring to our hotels, restaurants and shops. Take a look and see for yourself the fantastic surroundings that we are fortunate enough to call our home.”
