Family Fun Day to promote fostering in Llanelli

A special family fun day event is being held in Llanelly House this half-term to promote fostering opportunities in Carmarthenshire.
The informal information event, run by Carmarthenshire County Council’s fostering service, in conjunction with Llanelly House and supported by Llanelli Library, is being held at the town centre-based Victorian house on Thursday, February 23, between 10.30am-2.30pm.
During the event you will have a chance to meet some members of the council’s dedicated fostering team to find out more details about the various fostering opportunities available within Carmarthenshire, including what support is available should you wish to find out more.
You can chat with current foster carers who will be happy to share their experiences of fostering locally with you and how they have helped transform children’s lives for the better.
The new fostering website will be on show as well as the chance to view three, minute-long video case studies, featuring child actors but based on real-life events, showing how fostering has helped change these young people’s lives forever.
As part of the half term activities, there will be lots on offer to keep your young ones entertained including special family-friendly tours of the house, a colouring competition, mask making, face painting, a Victorian dress up box to help your children get into character and more. You can also meet fostering mascot Cal the bear.
Llanelli library is also supporting the event and will be holding story-telling sessions throughout the day at the library.
You can also take advantage of free car parking available in Carmarthenshire County Council-owned car parks located within the town centre on this day also.

Please note if you wish to take part in any of the set Llanelly House tours, booking in advance is advisable. Entry is free for children with a maximum of two children per one paying adult. For tour bookings and enquiries call 01554 772857 or email bookings@llanellyhouse.org.uk
