Lucy Morris appointed a partner with Red Kite Law team

Commercial property expert Lucy Morris has been appointed a partner with the go-ahead legal team at Red Kite Law.
Mrs Morris, 30, is already in charge of Red Kite Law’s market-leading commercial property team.
Mrs Morris is based at Red Kite Law’s offices in Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire.
“I’m delighted to be given partner status with Red Kite Law, a legal firm with extensive local knowledge of the community in Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire,” she said.
Fellow partner David Sangster said he was delighted to welcome Mrs Morris into the partnership.
He said: “We pride ourselves on our local roots and Lucy is an extremely able solicitor who is both a team leader and a team player with Red Kite Law.
“As someone rooted in the local community, she adds to the unrivalled expertise we are able to offer our clients as the ‘local’ legal team of choice.”
Mrs Morris said: “I have the pleasure of heading up a team with unrivalled breadth of expertise and specialism in all areas of commercial property.
“Together with local ‘heavyweights’ John Lewis and John Griffiths, we have nearly 90 years experience of working with businesses in West Wales and helping them to grow and develop profitably.
“We advise on lease negotiation and drafting, planning, commercial development, property investment, banking related property matters, the acquisition and disposal of property, insolvency related transactions and agricultural transactions.
“Whatever we are doing, it's my job to make sure that our commercial property clients get expert, practical, personal advice that meets their business needs and that transactions are completed on time, every time.
“I may be the newest partner, but I have developed a reputation for being accessible, sensible and a practical lawyer with a sharp mind. My clients tend to be pretty savvy about their business- they need me to advise on the technical legal issues and to be clear and commercial in that advice.”
Clients in the portfolio include -
  • Landlords and tenants who value a efficient, prompt and tailored service.
  • Large local and regional developers looking for sensible advice and a cost effective plot sales team who can handle more than 50 plots at a time.
  • Property investment companies who need portfolio management with several client portfolios exceeding £5m.
  • Agricultural businesses who need specialist agricultural law advice on sale and purchase of land and buildings as well as agricultural tenancies such as farm business tenancies.
  • Businesses re-financing, mortgages, guarantees and buying and selling freehold commercial properties.
  • Landowners leasing land for solar and wind farms, including options and development agreements.
Mrs Morris added: “I love working closely with individual clients and small, often family run businesses. I'm proud to see the local businesses that I assist grow and develop and to have contributed in some way to that.
“Originally from Bancyfelin, Carmarthenshire, I have stayed close to my roots. After University in Cardiff and the Swansea, I trained with Morris Roberts in 2006 and have worked in the West Wales commercial property market since I qualified in 2008, working closely with local estate agents, surveyors, bank managers and lenders.
“This means that my clients do not have to explain the market round here or the challenges and opportunities they have – I’ve grown up with it!”
A Welsh speaker, Mrs Morris and her family live near Ammanford. She spends most weekends outdoors playing with her boys in the countryside. She enjoys keeping fit doing zumba and yoga.

Red Kite Law has 13 partners and a total headcount of 81, with seven offices spread across Pembrokeshire and Carmarthenshire. The senior management team consists of Andrew Manning as CEO, Gayle Butland HR Manager, Chris Woolley as Finance Director and Sally Calverley as Business Development Director.
