New website helps consumers
Consumers in Carmarthenshire can now use a new national website to make sure that the brands they are buying are genuine.
Trading Standards chiefs in the county have welcomed the launch of shopping directory Brand-i, which has been created in partnership with the Trading Standards Institute.
The website aims to reduce the amount of counterfeit goods purchased by consumers by providing them with a list of genuine stockists for their favourite brands.
The directory has a large amount of brands including UGG, GHD, Abercrombie and Fitch and Pandora. Most of which are renowned for fakes. The website address is: www.brand-i.org
Executive board member for public protection Cllr Pam Palmer said: “The Brand-i website is a welcome service to help consumers avoid being conned into buying counterfeit goods when they think they are buying brand names.”
