Latest fishing report from Talyllyn

The latest fishing report from Talyllyn Lake and the Ty'n y Cornel Hotel -
Despite the warm weather recently, some notable catches were recorded.
Mornings and evenings were most productive when the sun was not at its hottest, but if there was any cloud cover then the fish fed all day long.
Rectory Bay, Pentre Drift, Cae Drift, Home Drift, and the Inner Cairn Drift have been the best boat locations.
Best bank drifts have been from the Pentre Steam down to One Tree Bay.
Flies such as Bibio, Clan Chief, Harry Tom, Sooty Olive and Goldhead Damsels on floating and intermediate lines have all worked well, along with dry flies such as Hopper, Sedges, CDCs and Shuttle Cocks.
Mr PC Knowles took 10 fish on Diawl Bachs; Phil Parks caught four fish up to 1¾ lb.
David Kenworthy caught six fish on a Grhe, whereas Alex York took seven fish while float tubing mainly on a Harry Tom.
Paul Makin took 10 fish on Bibio and Paul Robinson and Ron Storr Barker caught 10 fish on Sooty Olives.
Clive Pavely took ten fish up to 1¾ lb on Bibio and, finally, Mr T. Hayatsu caught five up to 1½ lb in weight on a Grhe nymph.
Bala Angling Club had a small club competition when the best boat went to Barry Evans and Rich Thomas with 21 fish of up to 1½ lb.
Brian Parry and Dewi Rees caught 12 fish up to 1¾ lbs whereas Steve Wood and Huw Emsley caught 11 fish up to 2lbs.
All of Steve’s fish were overwintered, fin-perfect fish and the best we have seen for many years!
Trevor Edwards and Mark Watkins caught 17 fish up to 1½ lbs in weight- a good day’s work.
June should be an exciting time here with a large hatch of the Coch y Bonddu due, providing great sport to the dry fly.
Tight lines!
